John Bryan State Park
3790 State Route 370, Yellow Springs, OH 45387
John Bryan State Park is defined by its dramatic terrain. The Little Miami River has carved a deep limestone gorge through the landscape, creating one of Ohio’s most visually striking natural corridors. Towering rock walls, shaded trails, and rushing water give the park a sense of scale that feels both expansive and grounding.

Spanning 752 acres, the park surrounds the Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve, a National Natural Landmark recognized for its geological and ecological significance. The area’s glacial history has contributed to rare plant species and a diverse natural environment that continues to draw hikers, climbers, paddlers, and naturalists year-round.
The park’s origins reflect a long-standing commitment to preservation. Donated by John Bryan in 1918 as a forestry and wildlife reserve, the land was officially designated a state park in 1949. Today, it supports a wide range of outdoor experiences, from quiet hiking paths to active recreation, all within a community known for its openness and connection to the land.

Time spent here feels immersive, offering not just scenery, but a sense of continuity between past and present.
